I feel a sense of history. I paint my time, my life.                          It is a visual diary.

Most of my paintings begin on location  where the air is full of light, color and enormous energy.  I try and grab it and drape it on my canvas.  Yes, sometimes I work out of the confines of the stretcher frame.  The odd shape of the canvas inspires me to think 'out of the box' and to avoid the 'call of reality".  After a couple of hours in the elements, I take the painting to my studio where I bring it to another level.  Every inch is scrutinized and painted over if needed.  The process has now slowed down considerably as it may take me many hours, days or months to finish.  When it is done, I sigh, I wish it would take longer...I don't want it to end.
