Meet Judith Surowiec...
Judith Surowiec grew up in Buffalo,NY. Inspired by her creative mother and the work of Charles Burchfield, she studied art at SUNY and graduated with a degree in Art Education. Judith and her family moved from state to state affording her the opportunity to meet new artists and become involved with the arts of each community. During one move to Atlanta, she began studying with Joseph Perrin. Her work made a dramatic change as it exploded with color.
This class gave her courage to take risks.
“Beginning painters usually have a preconceived idea of how their painting should come out and reject any strange lines and colors that may appear on their canvas. It is only when you accept the weird that you are being creative and the inner self comes out. Weird brings freedom. Weird is wonderful … be not afraid.”
